Hoenn Access

Hoenn Access is the quest chain that takes you to Hoenn, the region for players level 250 and up. It goes through four NPCs: Professor Oak in Pallet, Professor Elm in New Bark, Hank south of Goldenrod and Professor Birch in Hoenn.

Along the way you carry two Packages for Professor Birch, travel to Hoenn in Hank's truck and catch a Poochyena to hand to him. When you finish you get an egg with a Hoenn starter Pokémon.

Steps

Go to Pallet and talk to Professor Oak to start the quest.

Go to New Bark and talk to Professor Elm.
Professor Elm
Before going to Hoenn you must carry two Packages for Professor Birch: one with research equipment and one with Johto soil samples. Both show up in your inventory as “Package”; do not drop or sell them.
Go south of Goldenrod and talk to Hank. Then click the truck (the trailer next to him): it takes you to Hoenn.
Hank
Catch a Poochyena. They spawn in the Poochyena area of Hoenn (map below), which is also where Professor Birch is.
Talk to Professor Birch and hand him the Poochyena.
Professor Birch
Talk to Professor Birch again to hand him the two Packages. That finishes the quest and you get the egg.

Where to catch the Poochyena

Almost every wild Poochyena in Hoenn spawns in one area, southeast of the Pokémon Center and the Poke Mart shown on the map. To catch it, defeat it and throw an empty Poké Ball at it (see Poké Balls).
