Rockets & Police

(weekly)

Every week you can battle 13 Team Rocket members in Pokéview. Each win gives you Rocket Tokens and adds 1 to a counter that never resets: at 130 wins you unlock Giovanni. Beating him opens a second ladder of 13 police officers, who give Police Tokens and lead up to Officer Jenny. The tokens are traded for Helds.

13 Rockets + 13 police officers

Reset every Monday

Final boss at 130 wins

Requirement: VIP Account

How it works

Each NPC only counts one win per week; on Monday they are all available again. The win counter, however, never resets. If you beat all 13 Rockets every week, you reach Giovanni’s 130 wins in 10 weeks; if one week you only beat 8, you add 8 and carry on from there.

Rockets

There are 13 of them and each one is stronger than the last: the first ones use low-level Pokémon, and the last ones, high-level Shiny teams. They are in their base, by the lake north of Viridian. To start the battle, talk to the Rocket; the reward reaches your backpack as soon as you beat them.

Giovanni

  • Requirements: level 300, VIP Account and 130 wins against Rockets.

  • Battle: in Pokéview, your Pokémon (up to 6) against his 6 Shiny Pokémon. You have 5 minutes and cannot use Revive or Potion.

  • If you lose, challenging him again costs 30 Luck Medallions.

First win

The first win unlocks the police officers and, besides those items, gives 5,000,000 XP and a very small chance at the Rocket Outfit and the Giovanni Outfit. The Rocket Outfit is a pedestal that unlocks the outfit for a single character; the Giovanni Outfit is purely decorative.

What to do with the tokens

Rocket Tokens and Police Tokens are traded for Helds at the Exchange of Helds machine, right next to the Boost machine (Boost Stone Workshop), in the southern part of the Trade Center. The machine shows every trade: which token it takes, how many, and the tier range the Held can come from.
