Mega Evolution
A Pokémon holding its Mega Stone can Mega Evolve: it turns into its Mega form, which has its own Pokédex entry, with its own types and moves. Shiny Pokémon cannot.
The Mega Stone
Each species with a Mega has its own Mega Stone: Charizardite X for Mega Charizard X, Gengarite for Mega Gengar… It is a Y-slot Held and goes in like the other Helds: you use it on the Poké Ball with the Pokémon inside.
Each Mega form has its own tier: many go up a long way from the species (Gengar is T2 and Mega Gengar is Mythic) and others stay the same (Mawile and Mega Mawile are both T2). Mega forms also have their own Pokélog entry and can have a different speed for Fly, Surf and Ride.
Note: A Poké Ball with Stars does not accept a Mega Stone. If you plan to Mega Evolve a Pokémon, do not give it Stars.
Auto Mega
Auto Mega makes the Pokémon Mega Evolve on its own. You turn it on for the Poké Ball you have out with the «!automega on» command, and off with «!automega off». To set it up:
Step 1:
Send out the Pokémon with its Mega Stone in.
Step 2:
Wait until none of its moves are on cooldown.
Step 3:
Type «!automega on».
Step 4:
The Pokémon goes back into its Poké Ball by itself: Auto Mega is now set up.
While Auto Mega is on, Fly, Surf and Ride use the Mega form's speed.
How to get a Mega Stone
Mega Stones come from the Mega Dens: completing one gives you 1,000,000 XP and a chance at that Pokémon's Mega Stone. Each Den opens with its sealed Mega Stone, which is the key and is used up when you enter: the «sealed Charizardite X» opens the Mega Charizard X Den. Mega Dens require level 350, are solo and last up to 30 minutes.
Entering a Mega Den
Get the sealed Mega Stone of the Pokémon you want and carry it with you.
Go to its Mega Den portal and confirm you are entering alone: Dens are solo.
When you enter, the sealed Mega Stone is used up and your Pokémon is healed.
Inside there are usually 5 to 8 Mega Pokémon. Defeat them before the 30 minutes run out.
When you complete the Den you get 1,000,000 XP and a chance at the Mega Stone.
Sealed Mega Stones drop in Hoenn hunts with Hazard: from Hazard 5, the Legendary group, and from Hazard 10, the Mythic group as well. They are also bought and sold on the Market.
