Health Items
(Revives, potions and status)
Health Items keep your Pokémon fighting: revives bring them back when they faint (or, if they’re still standing, restore all their HP and cooldowns), potions restore HP, and Medicine clears status conditions.
Revives
A revive brings a fainted Pokémon back into the fight. Used on a Pokémon that’s still standing, it restores all its HP and its moves’ cooldowns (CD). Which one you can use depends on your player level: Revive up to 219 and Max Revive from 220. At level 250, for example, a Revive no longer works for you and you need Max Revive.
| Revive | What it does | Your level | NPC price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Revive | Revives, or restores all HP and CDs | Up to 219 | 300 Pokédollars |
| Max Revive | Same as Revive | From 220 | 600 Pokédollars |
| Technological Revive | The only one that works in Primal hunts | — | 250,000 Pokédollars |
Some places have their own rules:
In Primal hunts (from level 350), Revive and Max Revive don’t work: the only one you can use is the Technological Revive. These hunts are meant to be played with your full Pokémon rotation, without revives.
In the hidden Dungeon of each Kanto GYM, the one that opens after Alfred’s task, you can’t use Revive (see Kanto GYMs).
In the battle against Giovanni you can’t use revives or potions (see Rockets & Police).
Swapping unique Revives for Max Revives
Once you pass level 219, any Revives you have left are no use. The unique ones (they cannot be sold) can be swapped for Max Revives:
Go to the Trade Center terrace, on the left, where the exchange NPC stands.
Open the Pokémon window (Ctrl+P) and put the Revives in the slot next to the Pokémon.
Say «exchange» to the NPC. It only takes unique Revives.
How to use revives and potions
Reviving a specific Pokémon
Use the Revive, Max Revive or Technological Revive on that Pokémon’s slot in your Pokébar.
From the action bar
The easiest way is to put your revives, potions and Medicine on the action bar, each with a key. The slot's mode decides what the item is used on.
Drag the item into an action bar slot. The «Assign Object to Action Button» window opens (if it is already there, right-click the slot and pick «Edit Object»).
Pick the mode: «Use on Pokémon» for potions and Medicine, and «Auto Revive» for revives.
Press «Ok». If the slot has no key yet, right-click it and pick «Assign Hotkey».
Press the key in combat: the item is used at once, without aiming.
| Mode | What it does |
|---|---|
| «Use on Pokémon» | Uses the item on your active Pokémon. This is the mode for potions and Medicine. |
| «Auto Revive» | Uses the revive on your Poké Ball. There is a 1 s wait between uses. |
| «Smart Use» | Uses the item on whatever is under the mouse cursor on the map. |
| «With crosshair» | Lets you pick with the cursor what to use it on. |
| «Use on target» | Uses it on the creature you are attacking. |
| «Use on Yourself» | Uses it on your character. |
| «Use» | Just uses it. |
Potions
Potions restore your Pokémon’s HP, but they don’t revive it. There are two lines, both sold by NPCs: regular potions, from 5 Pokédollars to 100 Pokédollars, and Hoenn Potions, from 500 Pokédollars to 2,000 Pokédollars.
| Potion | NPC price |
|---|---|
| Small Potion | 5 Pokédollars |
| Great Potion | 10 Pokédollars |
| Ultra Potion | 20 Pokédollars |
| Hyper Potion | 50 Pokédollars |
| Ultimate Potion | 100 Pokédollars |
| Small Hoenn Potion | 500 Pokédollars |
| Medium Hoenn Potion | 1,000 Pokédollars |
| Ultimate Hoenn Potion | 2,000 Pokédollars |
Status conditions
Medicine
Cures any of these: poisoning, paralysis, sleep, burn, slow, confusion and stun. It costs 10 Pokédollars at NPCs.
Guardian Elixir
Your Pokémon becomes immune to every negative effect for 1 hour. The NPC Mark sells it for 100,000 Pokédollars, and it is also in the Twitch Shop.
Moomoo Milk in PokéView
Moomoo Milk restores half of your Pokémon’s max HP. It only works in PokéView, in battles that allow it (such as Officer Jenny’s), and has a 30 s cooldown. Fazendeiro Carl’s task in Johto gives you 20 Moomoo Milk and access to its production (see Tasks).
